Facebook on Wednesday is unveiling new features that it hopes will make women in India feel safer on its platform. The new feature by Facebook has given users to safeguard their own picture. You might have come across many fake profiles of your friend and family members. In certain cases even though you report to Facebook, it’s not necessary that the profiles will be deleted. The hackers know certain ways to bring it back.

Facebook has developed this tool in partnership with Indian safety organizations like Centre for Social Research, Learning Links Foundation, Breakthrough and Youth Ki Awaaz. It aims to give people more control over their profile pictures and photos.

What does it do?

Once you enable the PPG(Profile Picture Guard)other users won’t be able to download, Share or send the profile photo in a message on Facebook. Also, people who are not your friends won’t be able to tag themselves or anyone in your profile picture.

It also prevents other users to take a screenshot from mobiles phones also. This feature is not available in IOS but it will be soon coming.

You will be able to identify this new feature by a blue border and a shield around the profile pic.

This feature is now only available in India but soon will be developed for all other countries across globe.
